This painting won runner-up prize in the 'seascape' section in a Californian exhibition. Peter Kotka says, "It is the story of life, as in life there is a beginning - the waters edge - but where and when it is we do not know. We know that life will end, and the misty horizon hides this from us. The bottles point and lead us to the hazy sun (the light) and the labels on the bottles have a boat on them, which will take us on our journey."
